Fundraiser and Gimhae...

So i found out more about the fundraiser and apperantly it has something to do with raising funds for the equality of women judges in korea. I am glad to know that my works are raising funds for a good cause. all works will be completed and ready for the sale by friday. i'll have to take some quick shots for all to view...

this weekend we went down to gimhae (which is down near busan - 5 hrs by bus) to visit the clayarch museum again...

here are some pictures...ironically i wasn't too keen of the artwork on exhibit and so most of the pictures are of friends...which i think is more interesting anyways..

enjoy

update...

the show has ended but work in the studio is busier than ever. the MiMoMo show opened some new doors for me. The great news is that I sold out! even better was that I received two somewhat large commissions from the show. I also received a smaller commission as a result of someone having seen my works displayed by someone who bought one of my pieces...this commission however might open up even larger doors because it is for an annual fundraiser held by the Korean Embassy. I will be making about 15 pieces for sale at the embassy fundraiser.

on top of all this madness i need to keep up with my school work...argh!

on my way...

September marked a highly pivotal point in my life. Sales at the show were great and I received commissions both off and on site. This showed me that my works are becoming more widely accepted.

I recall that Chihuli no longer stayed in education because his sales were starting to top that of his salary as an educator. First off, I’d like to say I’m no Chihuli…but September marked the first time in which the sales of my works topped that of my current working positions as a ceramics instructor and English tutor.

I’d didn’t make huge sums of money. Actually it wasn’t much at all. But who am I to rain on my parade.
