Countdown...

31 days left until the show...
4 weeks left until the show...
1 month left until the show...

it's coming quick now. but what i'm more excited about are my family and friend that coming from LA and Colorado to celebrate with me. I wish my sister and her family were able to come, but traveling with two wee ones ... especially over the pacific in a grueling 13+ hour flight... nuff said.

in this post i would like to invite you all to the Retro Virus mini site @: www.clayative.net/retrovirus

navigating the site should be a bit easier, thanks to some input from my brother. but just in case, the sperm on the left and right side...well those are the "back" and "next" arrows...

the site won't feature any artwork images quite yet. that's coming later...

Retro Virus...

Retro Virus: Reassessing the AIDS Crisis

I decided in efforts to be GREEN i would have my invitations to my grad show be electronic...
When the time is right, i will send out text msgs and emails providing a link to the invitation to my show. Pretty sound minded of me huh? the invite, a webpage, will be converted to a mini-website to show the works presented at the show. those who won't be seeing the works in person can see it virtually...

some may say that i'm just cutting costs of my show. well this would be right, but those attending the show can pick up a non-virtual leaflet if they would like. i'm just really cutting on the "immediate trash" percentage, although potentially missing on a good opportunity to promote the show. seoul is already littered enough (see http://www.clayative.net/Blog/2007/05/in-progress.html).

if you don't get one and would like to receive an invite (probably because i don't have your email, telephone number, etc...) please feel free to email me and request one.

Cool little Widget...

Some of you may have noticed this new little widget on the blog...

it's on the right there...the little map...that's it...

i just thought this was sooo cool. I could see who's checking in onto my site and from where! of course i thought that Seoul, Korea would be the only mark (i like to see who leaves comments)

now i'm seeing that somebody is checkin in on my from london! hello london!

neato!

sweat and blood...

putting final touches on some work. pouring bond on glass to attach epoxy sperm. but while removing some excess bond with a box cutter blade, i sliced my thumb. ouch!

sucks to be thumbless

Preparing for the $how...

nearly done...

gosh i think i've heard myself say this so many times before..

anyhoo, i'm really on that final stretch. but man i never knew it would cost so much to set up this production.

frame$
$tand$
light$
invitation$

all those $$$'$ just add up...actually it's W (Korean Won) but that's just not as fun.
need to sell some art

just hoping to break even...after all it's all part of the grad-school learning experience. or that's just how i'm justifying it

fly high...

they all tell you to open you wings and fly high..

"oh..all the places you'll see..."

for all the experiences i have had in all the lands i have been
i can't help but to wonder if all the people i have left behind to pursue what was ahead of me
was worth it...

the idea that one can do anything they want...is that a reality only in my mind? in this day and age why do people remove themselves from the idea of mobility...?

is the world only getting smaller so that we don't need to travel? our experiences are all virtual...
